He had a near fatal car accident in 2002 or 2003 and has been rehabbing since. Of course it is much more difficult to recover from those kinds of injuries when you are in your 70's (he is 71).
By the way, my son and I used to watch that show every Saturday morning. It was one of my favorites when it originally aired in the 60's (I was born in '62).

He is definitely alive and well and lives in Bear Valley, CA. His last movie was in 2002. The person that said he was murdered was thinking of Robert Crane.

He's alive and at least 71 years old (some records indicate he is older). He was partially paralyzed in a car accident March 31, 2003.
