Ron Harper 6'6 MagicJonhson 6'9
Michael Jordan 6'6 Norm Nixon 6'5
Scottie Pippen 6'8 James Worthy 6'9
Dennis Rodman 6'10 Kurt Rambis 6'9
Luc Longley 7'2 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 7'2
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Steve Kerr 6'3 Michael Cooper 6'5
Toni Kukoc 6'11 Bob McAdoo 6'11
Chicago was a better defensive team but L.A has a legitimate shot blocker with Jabbar. Michael will guard Magic, Harper will guard Nixon and Pippen will guard Worthy. Expect Jordan to hit 40 and maybe get double-digits in assists and a high number in rebounds and steals, same with Pippen. It will go down to the wire and at the end it will at depend on the superstars on each team, Magic and Jordan
at the end of the day I put my faith on Jordan and he will hit the game winner with the score being
120-119
Jordan: 38points 11 assists 6 rebounds 4 steals
Pippen: 29 points 8 assists 12 rebounds 2 steals 2 blocks
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Magic: 27 points 18 assists 8 rebounds 2 steals
Jabbar: 32 points 4 assists 19 rebounds 5 blocks

Any one of the Laker teams from the 1980's would beat the '96 Bulls. As for the 1982-83 Lakers:
Kareem vs. Longley....are you kidding me?
Rambis vs. Rodman...that could get ugly under the boards
Wilkes vs. Pippen....Pippen can't shut down Wilkes
Nixon vs Kerr... Kerr can't keep up defensively
Magic vs. Jordan...Jordan would get his points, Magic would get his assists. Pretty much a wash.
All in all, the Lakers would run the Bulls off the court. Also, the Lakers have a much better half court game with Kareem in the post, plus they have a better passing team than the Bulls.
Had this Bulls team played in the '80's instead of the watered-down '90's, they would not have come close to winning 70 games.
Just curious, why did you pick the '83 Lakers? The '87 Lakers were probably the strongest of their championship teams.

This is a tough one, but if any team could shut down those Lakers it's the 72-10 Bulls team. Pippen would harass Magic all day and who on that team could stop Jordan? Rodman and Pippen would take turns holding Worthy down and they would rotate on Kareem defensively. It's a great matchup, but i say the Bulls would prevail.

If both teams are healthy, the Lakers win because of their vastly superior depth.
Worthy was not a starter for the Lakers yet...that was his first year in the league... Jamaal Wilkes started at forward, along with Kurt Rambis. Wilkes was a 19.6 ppg scorer that year, second to Kareem's 21.8.
Hall of Famers James Worthy and Bob McAdoo would come off the bench, along with Michael Cooper.
Norm Nixon would piss all over Stever Kerr. Kerr would have a harder time keeping up with Nixon than Cooper would have keeping up with Jordan, or Wilkes with Pippen.
It would be fun to see Rodman and Rambis go at it!!
Kareem against Luc Longley... Kareem says "are you kidding me????" You mean instead of going against Moses Malone in the finals, I get to play against Longley???
Kareem would come out of retirement TODAY to get THAT match up... Longley would not give Kareem ANY problems... any one who thinks he would, never saw Kareem play. We're talking about the NBA's ALL TIME SCORING LEADER... and someone thinks Longley would give him problems? What problems? I guess only some indecision on Kareem's part as to how to best embarrass Longely.
The Lakers would let Jordan and Pippen get their points, but Kerr and Longley would literally be shut out. Rambis and Rodman would cancel each other out...they were both excellent fundametally under the boards.
Lakers, no contest.

DA Bulls!! Jordan was in his prime and unstoppable. You got Pippen and I do believe Dennis Rodman as well as Horace Grant and some other dudes. The '83 LA Lakers were as dangerous as any team in history, but were they 72-10? No not even close I'm sure.

72 bulls but in a hard fought battle
chicago bulls
c- luc longley
pf- dennis rodman
sf- scottie pippen
sg michael jordan
pg steve kerr
la lakers
c- kareem abdul jabar
pf kurt rambis
sf- james worthy
sg- magic johnson
pg- norm nixon
when comparing the 2 rosters, chicago easily gets the W. mismatches left and right. jordan vs. magic & worth vs pippen would be something to watch. luc longley will get killed against kareem. he would give kareem some problems, but hands down, that hook shot will tire longley. rodman vs rambis would be something interesting to watch since both players don't take crap from anyone

Lakers hands down, they would have too much fire power for MJ and Pipen. Plus Bulls had no anser for Kareem no one did.
