Lots and lots and lots of practice. I never took typing in school, but currently, I'm at about 80 words per minute. I started off with a Mavis Beacon typing teacher, then I got a job as a word processor. After about 5 years of typing for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week... well... =)

Plain and simple it is just practice. I really got great at typing in college when I had tons of papers to do and not enough time to do it.

I have taken typing tests when I really motor I can type about 50 words per minute. Not secretary speed but still pretty speedy. My aunt is a secretary she types closer to 90 words a minute.

It just takes practice. Once you have it down where all of the keys are without having to look, then its just a matter of practicing to increase your speed. If you have a word processing program on your computer just use that to practice. There are also some software programs to learn to type, but if you know your basics then you don't even need that if you have the word processing program.

Good luck!

I learned my typing on a old school type writer and I was good at it.

But on the PC, you can get typing tutors and try to chat often that way your typing goes very fast LOL

With a lot of practice. Force yourself to maintain good habits at all times (and stop the one finger key thing). There are classes to speed you up but if you have proper technique you just need practice. Start talking on the net to people...that should really help you out.

actually take a typing class. You'll learn to type and save time and/or be able to get what you want to say out in record time.
