I don't get it...tell me if you agree with this. If white people had white people movie awards on TV, the black people whold cry and complain over and over until eventually someone would get in trouble and accused of being old fashioned and practicing segregation. But, yet, I am seeing on TV year after year the Black People Movie awards!?! That is segregation! I want in! I want to demand that this is segregation. I think someone should put Densel Washington up against someone like Brad Pitt or something. Oh wait, I can't because it'st he black people awards. White people are not allowed to participate. But this is somehow not segregation...hhhmmmmmmmmm

Yes, we should have white people awards, Hispanic people awards, Asian people awards, ghetto people awards, Eskimo awards, etc. Leave no group behind. Segregation is not such a bad thing, is it? Why are you people always trying to take something away from black folk. ;-)
In my opinion, segregation should always be an option-I see nothing wrong with it unless it is done in a nasty, hateful, and malicious way. Segregation should be optional but should NEVER be forced. Do you agree or do you think one size should fit all? We are all different in what we like and desire out of life.

They do. It's called The People's Choice Award, The Oscars, The Emmy's. Blacks seldom receive awards on those shows because the judging is done by whites. When Blacks do receive the awards they are usually for something that should be degrading to Blacks, yet most still celebrate them for achieving the milestone. For instance Denzel's Academy award. He's very talented and has done some incredible performances but he received his award for playing a corrupt drug selling, drug using cop. Hallie got hers for being a slut and screwing a white guy that she just met after her husband was put to death in prison and her son was killed in a hit and run. What kind of sense does that make?
And it's not true that Black awards don't allow whites in. How many whites have won Soul Train awards? Why do they show Emineim on BET?
Besides if we can't recognize ourselves for achievments who will.

Yes, it is wrong. Latinos have their own awards too. But not just white people win at "all the rest" (which some people claim are white awards). It simply doens't make any sense that certain groups are allowed "special" status and can discriminate while others have to acknowledge and accept all.

You can already make the argument that all awards ceremonies are already the white people awards. There aren't enough people of color on TV or in movies. We need to support them and recognize their achievements.

because the white people of today are having to pay the price for what our predecessors done so heaven forbid the white folks should have anything to them selves. you are right about the segregation thing. they didn't want to be segregated in the 60's but now they do? I'm not racist, i just believe all races should have the same rights. you know, there were also white people who fought for de-segreation and many people died for it. now these people have made thier lives and struggles in vain. i think it's a shame.

It is very sad! You see reverse racism every day. I just don't get it. I run into just as many other nationalities that are racist but for some reason we get punished for it. Uhhhhhhhhhh! I am so sick of it.
