Like the name says, these guys produce massive funnel-shaped webs. Australia is home to the world's deadliest spider (the Northern Australian Funnel-Web Spider) as well as the world's second-deadliest spider (the Sydney Funnel-Web Spider).

A lot of people think it's the black widow, but it's not,
They discover new ones everyday, but from what I've heared the Hobo spider (indiginouse to mountain, forests, and anywhere cold dark and damp) But also the austrailian funnel web spider (male) and the austrailian bird spider. They live in the outback, and tunnel under ground. I will never go there. I HATE spiders.

Oh, and the daddy long leg isn't a spider. What was mistaken for the two front legs are indeed inteni, because the daddy long leg doesn't have eyes. They also don't have a venom sack, so they're not even poisones. And they have no silk sacks ( used to make webs) they are part of the aracnid family along with scorpions, but they are not a spider.

in the book Last Chance to See, Douglas Adams quotes Dr. Struan Sutherland, from Melbourne, as saying "The most poisonous spider is the Sydney funnel web. We get about five hundred people a year bitten by spiders." the book was written in 1990.

Venom toxicity - the Sydney Funnel-Web Spider is one of the world's most deadly spiders. Both the male and female carry atraxotoxin, one of the world's most dangerous toxins. The Blue Mountains Funnel-Web and Northern Tree Funnel-Web Spiders are also highly venomous.

The guiness book of world records lists the Brazilian wandering spider as the most venomous. I have also heard the Sydney funnel spider.

It is not the daddy long legs. That is an urban myth.

Believe it or not, the spider we refer to as, "Daddy Long Legs", the ones we all played with when we were kids, is the most poisonous, a very powerfull neurotoxin.

It could never harm us, because of the fact that the the fangs on this spider are so small, and fragile, they could never pierce our skin. They moslty feed on very small insects, nats, Aphids, etc.
