Depends on their contract, and that depends again on how known they are and who they know.
They can get gazillions (like Mariah Carey, who got so much money that many employees had to let go over that, the record complany could not afford them after that), or they get no money at all, just a free usage of the studio and a distribution deal. That is like money, like a service done for you that normally you must pay, but they give it to you. That can be your pay when you are unknown.
I worked in a record company once and have seen those deals with new, unknown bands and singers a lot. You have only one shot. When your first single is not a selling hit, there is no second. You're out then.
So, please don't think you will become rich because some people made that. You see only the successfull ones. The unsuccesfull ones are the majority, and you never see them.

It usually depends upon sales of their music by the following means: radio airplay, recording sales, licencing sales and contractual pay scales.
Some earn millions, most are lucky to earn anything.

that depends on whether or not they wrote their own songs, how many points they get on their album, what their contract with their record company is like, how well their album does, what kind of endorsement deals they have, and a million other factors.
