First question: In the beginning of Season 2, Desmond acted like he didn't know what would happen if the button wasn't pushed. But at the end, it was revealed that he had already experienced that because he was the one who crashed Flight 815. Was it a production error? Or am I missing something?

Second question: In the Season 3 premiere, Juliette partially reveals that they are the "remains" of the Dharma Initiative. What are your thoughts? Do you think they're telling the truth? Or is it just another lie? Ben looked pretty suspicious in the last shot.

Serious answers only, please.

Thanks to all of you who have answered so far. It's gonna be hard to choose a best answer since you've all got the same idea.... Maybe I won't choose one. But anyways, yeah; Season 3 is already shaping up to be full of surprises. Thanks, all my fellow "LOST" fans! :)

Desmond, I am sure, didn't want to tell the people that "found" him that HE caused the plane wreck! Plus, he needed to get them to "push the button" so he could make his escape. At the end of the season, he found himself back at the island, and figuring he would never be able to leave, offered full (?) disclosure.

Now, as for Season 3....I don't believe that the Others are "the remains". That implies that the experiments (?) are no longer being conducted, and they were simply left on the island....But remember when the pallet of food was dropped to the island? Who was that meant for? And how did she have access to all the information about Jack??

My question is who was the boy that got Sawyer to attempt to escape? Was he another prisoner, perhaps from the tail end of the plane? Or was he one of the Others?

Very intriguing.

Ok, just to clarify...Desmond said he thinks he caused the plane to crash, however every episode, and last nights was no exception gives no possibilities to what may have happened with the plane crash. In the next to last episode of season 2, Desmond told Locke about his experiences in the hatch without mention of the date when he first arrived on the beach. However, I do believe Desmond was part of the Dharma Initiative and in fact he did cause the plane to crash on the island by not pushing the button...

Question 2
The Others ARE the Dharma Initiative! They have been for some time too. They are far from "Lost" as their civilization in the middle of the island proved. Henry Gale (Ben) said at the beginning of Season 2, "this is our island"...but because of Juliette's file on Jack, they knew the survivors were coming. I think the plane crash was intentional and part of the Dharma Initiative. I think the machine in the hatch did make the plane crash, but not on accident. The Dharma Initiative is a government experiment set up to see how people would react if they were marooned on a deserted island.....

There I said it.... now let's see if that is really the truth...

It wasn't a production error. He really wasn't sure until after he looked at the dates on the time he didn't push the buttons to the time the plane crashed. That was when he realized that something from the Island caused the plane to go down.My thoughts were that by him not pushing the buttons caused an electro magnetic force shield to be released into the atmosphere. Thus causing the electric wiring in the plane to catch fire and then exploding in half and landing at two different spots on the island.

I think they are a group of scientists that were there doing controlled experiments with live animals and people.I believe something horrible happened to cause them to lose control over the animals and thus making them dangerous to humans. They are able to recieve information about each survivor from the plane crash and now will use them in furthering their tests.I think the experiments may have something to do with time travel or something similar.

Question 1: Honestly I don't think Desmond had a clear idea of what happened when he didn't restart the computer. He mainly experienced a small earthquake. He didn't realize until almost at the end of season 2 that him not restarting the computer time..that he had something to do with the plane crashing.

Question 2: It's really hard to tell who is telling the truth and who isn't. The plot mainly changes all the time. I am on edge to find out what is really going on. It was kinda a shock to me to see almost a whole entire town living there.

i think that Juliette and Ben are an couple just cause the way the look at each other in the end of the show. and that the people were too calm when they felt the earthquake and saw the plane rip in two...that was weird!! but this episode didn't tell us much as i thought it would

Though you may think that my answer is not serious, it is what I really think. The TV show "Lost" is not about the characters in the show being lost, it's about how to keep the audience watching the show, lost. Since it's about keeping the audience lost, nothing you see in any episode makes sense with any other episode. Just my opinion.

I'm pretty sure he did not know what would happen until the conversation he had with Locke. He put two and two together then realized what would happen if it wasn't pushed. I.E." I crashed your plane"
