The best thing I've found for raising the humidity with my reptiles has been a substrate called Eco Earth. There are a few similar to it, but they're great at holding humidity. The blocks don't cost much, $5 at most, and one would be all you need for 40 gallons. It's good for holding moisture and giving ball pythons the hiding spaces that they need. My ball python always liked to burrow under it. Humidity for a ball python should be around 55%.

Humidity for a ball python should be between 40-60% (although I recommend keeping it around 60%). I cannot stress enough that you need to retain a humidity level in this range in order to have a healthy snake. Low humidity can cause dents in the eyes, shedding problems, eating problems, and dehydration. Here are some tips to maintain humidity levels for your snake:
-- If you haven't done so already, pick up a hygrometer (humidity gauge), available at any pet store that sells reptile supplies.
-- If your terrarium is large enough (and you can afford it), there are misters available at reptile specialty shops that can be set on a timer to release just the right amount of mist at interval times during the day and night.
-- Keeping a large basin of water (you should have this already) directly on top of an undertank heating mat or directly under the heat lamp will help.
-- Buy an extra hide box and fill the inside with damp moss or vermiculite. The snake will go inside the box, usually when it's getting ready to shed. Keep an eye on how much you use this method though as it may cause a fungal infection on the underbelly of the snake (from it constantly laying on damp material).
Hope that helps! Good luck!

superb thank you to enhance the humidity is get a sprig bottle and spray the tank down 2-three times an afternoon until she finishes laying off when you may spray the tank down one and all to 2 days. additionally you suggested some thing approximately 2 seventy 5 watt bulbs from what you suggested i could no longer decide in case you had the two bulbs on one ingredient or what yet you deff could desire to have a funky ingredient for her the warmth lamp isnt somewhat needed a typical gentle bulb on one edge of the tank will do or a uth. basically ascertain you shop the cool ingredient a minimum of 10 stages cooler than the warmth and you dont choose the warmth ingredient too heat.

At pet shops they have misters. Or, you could just mist the walls of the tank everytime you think about it, but then when you go to work, it wouldn't get it all day. A mister on a timer sounds like a good idea.

Put your water dish on top of an undertank heat pad and this will heat the water and create more humidity

I use a Tropicaire Humidifier and Air Exchanger for my hermit crabs. It should work well for your python as well.
