Like all relationships jealousy will rear it's ugly head. Then the feelings of whether you are being faithful etc. So in effect it is in fact or will turn into a relationship before long as soon enough the benefits will not be enough to sustain this type of friendship.

I say take the risk. I once went out with someone who I was good friends with, and we both agreed in the beginning of the relationship that if anything should, heaven forbid, happen and we break up, that we havd to remain civil and friendly to each other no matter the situation. It's great, because we did break up eventually, but we're still thick as theives. It was tough at first, but after a while we just realized that we were better as friends, after all. But then, I know best friends who dated and got married! You just never know. It really is better to take the risk because it's soooo complicated to have friends with benefits. Trust me on this one.

Absolutely not! I've been in the same situation several times and I haven't done it. You're not just friends if you do that, you're either promiscuous or in a relationship. Don't risk it! If you're afraid of ruining your friendship then you'd actually be better off going out rather than friends with benefits. Think about it!!!

It's not ok in your situation. The "friends with benefits" situation means that you can't have any kind of romantic feelings for each other. You should watch Seinfeld. Jerry and Elaine explain it best!

No Way! I was in the same situation and I regret it going beyond being just friends.. We are no longer friends cuz once you cross that line ,expectations change which in turn changes your opinion of each other.

being friends with benefits is okay if you're both mature enough to realize that you're in a relationship based on SEX. or whatever you mean by "benefits." maybe it's lunch.
if you're both fine with not being emotionally attached to each other, you should be fine.

No. The benefits are what will kill your friendship if you go out and it ends up not working.
