I wear a men's small in band shirts and things like that, but I have to order a women's t-shirt and I'm not sure what size to get.

It depends entirely upon your height.
If you're tall, then you're sh!t outta luck,...
Because Womens shirts like Tees & Polos don't usually run long, that is - there isn't much to Tuck (partially because the waist for women is higher than on men's wear).
You ought to be fine, if you're rather petite - to go with a small or extra small. Because its very likely that you won't be packing h00ters, will you?
Different brands also vary in the cut and sizing, also content can be a factor too since Spandex & Modal is not common in a lot of men's fashions.
Don't forget to check the label!

Mens clothing are typically made larger than womens. If a small mens tshirt fits your properly your best bet would be a small womans shirt. Typically, there is no much difference between them. Some sizes do run smaller but by purchasing a medium shirt you very likely would be swimming in it. If the brand offers childrens sizes try an extra large childs shirt as they typically are comparable to small womans sizes.

I'd say either a medium if the sizing goes from small medium large x large, or a 10 if they are proper womens sizes (thats for the u.k if your american then 2 sizes smaller so that would be a 6)

Medium.... mens and womens shirts are made differently.... if you are a small in a man's shirt you need to buy a size bigger in women's

genurally bigger then womans. So for woman a
small in men's is like a medium in womens!

I usually wear a medium in juniors, a small in womens, and I steal my man's shirts that are a size small!!!

I am going to say nothing less than a womans medium but it also depends on how loose or tight you want it to fit.
