It seems to me, before you can actually provide effective national security, you need to know who is inside the country and who is not. Am I right?

**This is not an illegal immigrant bashing question. This is also not a question asking if you want (or don't want) national security either, but feel free to be obnoxious if you want...I encourage it.

I don't see the connection.

1. Both illegal aliens and terrorists can enter the USA legally.

2. Some terrorists are legal US-born citizens.

3. Terrorists generally have legal status within the USA - in other words, if someone arrests an illegal alien, there's a better chance they have NOT arrested a terrorist, than if they'd arrested someone with legal status in the USA.

To track everyone within the USA at all times does start to lay down conditions for a police state. To remain the Land of the Free, it is necessary to assume some risk, in return for the freedom.

National Security needs to detect behaviour, NOT people.

Totally correct . Either we want national security or we don't . Plain & simple . My ancestors immigrated to the U.S. ; and I'm not immigrant bashing here either . It just makes sense to know who is in our country -verses rewarding those who enter illegally .

ur correct

i also think if ppl from other countries want to come to the USA they need to follow the proper procedure and be given the right to do so as well. just like we have to do when we try to get it in their countries. i am native american. and i would never be racist. i think all the fighting is stupid. i think that the hispanics that come to america that work hard should be given a chance to prove they can do what is legal to stay here. and that they get all the opporunities that american ppl do..and nothing more. no free taxes for 5 yrs. none of that.

illegal aliens pose more problems than national security
