That is just awesome! How fantastic that one of the worlds largest countries of fashion recognizes that large women are hip, and beautiful too! The fact that today society says that one must be EXTREAMLY tiny to be a model and be considered beautiful makes me sick. Why cant larger women be just as pretty as the smaller ones? Because they have stretch marks and some cellulite?

And also, why is discrimination against races and sex frowned upon, yet society expects discrimination upon larger people? Why is it ok to tease and harass over weight people, yet it is wrong to harass someone because they are black, or white?

Right on for France, I wish I could have seen that show!

That's a wonderful thing to hear. Women come in all sizes and shapes. Why on earth would they have only size 2 models? Just so the women larger than size 2 can look at them on the runway and everywhere in the media and feel bad about themselves? That doesn't make sense to me.

Now I'm no size 2 or 20, but I am on the larger size. I never understood why the majority of the clothes made for larger women just aren't attractive. At my largest, I was a 22. Does that mean I dressed in tents? Absolutely not. Even at my largest I wanted to look my best. I still do at 14/16. Speaking for myself, when I see larger models being accepted, I see it as a positive step forward. Regardless of the reason why a woman is larger, be it pregnancy, some other health reason, or unhealthy habits, we all still want to look our best. It's good that the industry is doing better to reflect that.

I like the idea that he did send out a fuller woman, but its my opinion that he did it simply for the hype. If he was truly trying to make a social comment on the super thin supermodels then ALL of his models would have been a size 20, rather than just one with the rest super thin.
I personally would love to see an end to the super thin craze. It isnt healthy!! On project Runway this season there was a model that was deemed a "plus size" even though she looked no larger than a size 6.

I am a size 0 and I really think it's a positive step in the right direction. I am blessed to be so tiny and not have weight issues. For many girls, reaching a size 0 is impossible and an unrealistic goal to attain.

I don't think they should have banned the smaller women from the show. The word has all kinds, all sizes of people. They should include a diverse group of models that encompasses all of women and encourages women to be happy with themselves and not to aspire to unrealistic goals.

I think they've gone from one extreme to the other - they should have not just models of one shape and size - personally arent you more likely to go out and buy an outfit you saw on a model if it looked awesome on a model with your exact body preportions. I cant tell from a size 0 or a size 20 if that would look good on me. I think they should have models from all size groups to represent a world where people exist in all size groups - who all need to dress and many who would also like to dress well.

I think it is awesome because people are dying from this idea that we should be small and frail and no meat. This teenagers are not eating or throwing up and they are destroying their bodies. We should change the idea of models and the ideas about what's hot! You don't have to wear a size zero to be pretty!!!
I like the new change that is coming about in this modeling view.

i think that 'the collective we' are totally brainwashed. all of these skinny anorexics do nothing for our self esteem. since i was a child, i have always stived for "the look" recently i have put on about 15 pounds and no longer a size 6. at first it really bothered me, but now i'm embacing it! i hope the crack head look turns out to not be so popular anymore! i think plus size models should be the only kind!!!
