This statement below is totally wrong, it is the opposite. What study do you refer to?
They say if you have too much sleep you could have a shorter life, people who have 5 hours or less lived longer strange but true, they have done studies on it! You can function well on about 4 hours a night but 7 is a better amount.

specialists say that an average person sleeps 7 hours a day. sleep works differently on different persons.you must sleep how much you think can refresh you but that should not be less than five hours a day.

I have been trying "Shavasan" whenever I am tired and it had worked wonderfully for me. This exercise simply means that you have to sleep, has you usually do, but with one difference. And that is to bring a quality of awareness in your sleep. Just try it for 15 minutes and be aware of sounds taking place outside, with eyes closed, being aware of the breath going in and out, being aware of itching sensation in your body, being aware of your thoughts running through your mind but without any movement in your body. BE RELAXED AND BE AWARE. You will come out more ENERGETIC.
