A friend and I are talking about South Park. I say Butters is gay and she says that he is not. What do you think?

Butters is not gay. If you notice how he speaks - he is a character that is from the 50's or 60's era. He is proper with his parents and how he addresses people (polite) and that does not make someone gay. He is adorable! He is not GAY!!!

Butters is a paranoid little dweeb who sucks up to everyone because he doesn't have his own opinion. I don't think he is gay he is just the perfect replacement for Kenny the tag-along smartass that everyone likes for no apparent reason. South Park isn't that good of a show and it never was, but it was time for a slight change in the game plan. I think it was the only thing that would make sense, switching Kenny out with a veritable newbie who was his polar opposite.

Butters isn't gay. Proof can be seen in the episode when Butters and the boys go to "Raisins" which is a restaurant just like Hooters. One of the waitresses flirts with Butters and he falls in love with her. Then Butters tells his parents that he met a girl and he wants them to meet her. Then one of his parents says, "See I told you he wasn't gay."

Butters is definitely not gay, if anything he is a parody of the children in early sitcoms. I.E. Ozzy and Harriet, etc. To make things clearly, does anyone remember the clay animation cartoon that use to come on one of the christian networks? I believe it was called "Davey and Goliath". Theres a show on adult swim called "Moral Orel" that is the antithesis of this, you'll find that Butters is similar to both.

no butter's isnt gay....cant remember the name of the episode but its the epoisode with the "raisinettes" the kiddy version of "hooters"...
butter's spends all his money on one of them and is basically obsessed with her callin her his woman and such...
even though butters sounds fruity he isnt, come on look at him he has looks, charm, personality...he is a real ladies man

He is a cartoon character, and technically can't be gay because he is non-sexual. If he was portrayed as gay, you would know it.

nope when they made their own cartoon butters made the figures..... and he made one of himself and a girl. and he made the girl ask him if he wanted to take her clothes off with her teeth. he said no because his gay dad wouldnt allow him his dads a **** for realz

but only in the episode where they see that backdoor sluts 9 i think its called. and he acts weird. i think he acted a bit gay
