i really want my beta fish to mate but none of my parents will help me (im an only child) they are to busy with their jobs and usually come home at 1 or 2. Can someone tell me how i can help them mate and im not even sure my beta fish is male or female.... please help!!!

Take 'em to a pet shop or an animal doctor and ask them if its a male or female.If its a male fish,get a female for it or if its a female get a male for it and they will mate during their mating season.

Male Beta's are the brightly colored blues greens and reds. the females are very drab in color. if you are going to try and mate then you need to make seperate chambers in your tank and seperate the female from the male.

A female has short fins and dull colors, a male has long fins and brightly colored. If they are ready to mate they will. You can not force nature.

if you are a child you should not let your fish mate with eachother. if you want more fish then go to a pet store and buy more. please wait until you're old enough to mate them and have enough information about fish and their needs.

you could do is when you see little bubbles on top that means your betta can be mate.
