It is usually Wenesday, meaning you're going over the hump(middle of the week) and it is now a countdown for Friday.
Of course this doesn't only apply to a week, but to any part of life. Hump day could be the middle point in your college career for example.
Enjoy all your hump days!

Hump Day is what you call Wednesday because it's the middle of the week. If your week is unpleasant, you're looking forward to the weekend, but if it's Monday it's like you're climbing a hill (a hump). By the time you get to Wednesday, you're halfway through the week, so it's as if you were climbing a hill but you're now going over the "hump" and coasting down to the weekend.
I am American, and I think this is pretty common, but not everywhere.

"Hump" day is any day in which you happen to get laid...unless you're a camel, in which case, it's every day and sex has nothing to do with it!
If the humping happens on a Wednesday, then you've hit the jackpot.
There is nothing uniquely bloody or American about it.

The expression refers to Wednesday, being the middle of the week, it's thought of as the hump of the work week, after that, it's all down hill.

I'm not fussy, for me it could mean any day of the week - depending on if I strike it lucky or not but I think the Americans use it to describe the middle of the week because after Wednesday it's down hill to the weekend

KU ! I started hump day as a celebration of my camel army, as you well know. Asking a question such as this does not fool me. I shall be watching out for you in the darkened shadows.

Wednesday. Halfway through the week. You get to Wednesday and you're halfway there. Hence, hump day.
