yes---only stupid people

In the military, the only stupid question is the one you don't ask.
The answer may someday save somebody's life, maybe the life of the person who asks the question.

But I have seen many questions on here with such obvious answers that the question was probably not necessary.
Some of the people on here are young children; some people on here have room-temperature IQs, and others are too close to a situation to figure things out.

I work in a library. I get 'stupid' questions all the time. Here are some of my favorites- (yes, they are actual questions)

1. What is the number for 9-1-1?

2. I want to visit the Holy Land.
a. I don't want to go by boat
b. I don't want to go by plane
c. I want to go for free

3. How many girls named "Ashley" are in Stow, Ohio?
4. Where are the books? (this is a library, look around)
5. Will you do my taxes for me?

When I taught school, that was my mantra. I said it a lot. However, over the years the kids, the parents, and a lot of people in general have constantly proved that wrong. I have since changed that to "the only bad question is the one not asked." I'm sure that one day that too will be proved wrong.

I teach high school...I hear stupid questions daily (even though we aren't supposed to acknowledge the stupidity of the question.) "Can I turn this in even though it was due 3 weeks ago and you don't accept late work?" STUPID QUESTION lol
"Do you want to get in trouble?" Why yes that was my goal...stupid question

No because I know better. There are stupid questions. They are
asked by stupid people. So actually, the question isn't stupid, it's
the one who asks it.(the poser). Thereby a Stupid Question by
default.
