Stable governments who are unlikely to use nuclear weapons on others are ok to have them. The developed nations want the unstable governments to wait until they are stable.

By the way, the US no longer builds nuclear weapons. We are in the process of decreasing our arsenal because what is the point of having them when they can't be used?

Iran and Korea are both isolationist governments who see themselves as threatened by the US and other countries. The governments there can only stay in power by limiting education, communication, and movement in their own countries and with the world. North Korea, in particular, is facing a crisis because they can't feed their own people and they don't dare open their doors to those who can. Their reaction is to build nuclear weapons and threaten to use them if the West doesn't stay out of their way.

Iran is more dangerous. They know better than to try to face the developed countries head on. Yes, they want nuclear weapons. No, they won't officially use them. Instead they might let them slip into the hands of terrorists from other countries. It would suit them just fine if a Saudi terrorist group set off a nuclear bomb in the USA--one that they'd produced. The only problem is keeping the developed countries from finding out they sold the bomb. They don't want to take responsibility for what happens next.

Iran does not desire nuclear warheads, it is attempting to develop nuclear power, because oil will run out, just as the UK is about to commission new nuclear power stations.
If Iran did want warheads it would be just and fair, as despite signing an anti nuclear proliferation treaty, both the UK & US have sold Israel nuclear technology and warheads, thereby shifting the balance of power in that region. The same offenders sold India nuclear power, and then complained when the Russians sold it to Pakistan, thereby re-equalising the power balance in that area.
In addition, the US sold Saddam Hussein Anthrax, then deposed him for using it. The US funded and armed the Mujhaddin to defend Afghanistan against the Soviet Union, and now we call them Al-Qaeeda and proclaim them evil. The US allowed the IRA to fundraise in the US, buying them bombs to kill UK residents, even though the IRA constitution gives Communism as their desired state of government, and the US claimed to be fighting a war against communism!
Basically, it all comes down to money, and screw the people on the street whose lives are ended or destroyed so long as the Bushes, Cheneys & Kennedys get richer.

The USA has the right to do anything it must to advance their own security. Our government has an obligation to only one group. The citizens of the USA. The only question to ask is "are Americans better off, or worse, if a specific country has nukes".
If we are not better off our leaders not only have a right to fight nuclear weapons in dangerous nations but an obligation.
Our leaders were elected to protect our interests, not the interests of any other nation.

Pakistan has nuclear weapons. Iran doesnt want nuclear weapons they want nuclear energy. The people in the US refuse to see that oil is running out and will have to be replaced.Iran is thinking of their countrys future good for them. Israel is allowed to have nuclear weapons because they were put in the middle east to do the things that america can not be publicly associated with. They need nuclear weapons because without them any number of middle eastern countries would blow the **** out of them for all the terrorist acts they have committed.Lastly the US is the greatest dont you know.
Have you ever heard someone say if i dont do it myself it wont get done right. I myself say that same thing.lol and im an american too big surprise.ANyway the US feels they can do everything better, better ideas, better everything so they need nuclear weapons to keep everyone in line.Lastly we have ****** with so many countries we ourselves need them.

Pakistan is a nuclear power.

The logic has been for a long time that you need a nuclear arsenal as a deterrent to nuclear attack. I buy that argument.

I think we have the right to stop proliferation more than we have a right to use any of our weapons in an offensive action.

The man with the boots does not mind where he puts his foot.(Irish proverb) When has Israel used nuclear weapons against anyone? Do you really think that Iran or North Koreal would not use nuclear weapons? Are you a commislamic fascist?

Yes--the necessity of having the things to discourage other states from using them does not in itself justify letting the nuclear club expand--especially to countries with a history of settling internal and/or external problems by force.

Nuclear bomb is a very huge weapon killing most of creatures in the world. Not Iran, pakistan nor USA should not own it. Nothing cannot be discussed and complimized.

Excellent point and I agree but don't be surprise when people crawl out of the wood work condemning what you said. Hell they will probably give me a thumbs down for agreeing with you.

To the person who said we use restraint and do we trust terrorists with nuclear weapons, what makes us different?
Everybody is a terrorist nowadays, why is it that you have to be a racist about it dumb ***.

sigh...... Countries that have Nuclear Weapons, such as Russia, United States, France, etc...are responsible with those weapons. The leaders are not threatening to end life and cause harm with those weapons. These weapons are used for defense not offense. The minute Israel gives up their protection, they will be annihilated. You are naive and uneducated in your thinking.
