The guys at work have been complaing that I have been emiting a cabbagey smell from my nose all day. Could it be like a hoover bag in my sinuses, once you have smelled too much, they get backed up and start spitting the smell back out?
I know, I know, this should be in the medicine section (maybe even the philosophy section)...I will drop it in there later too...but it is to you, my cherished chums of P&S, that I seek advise from first

Hmm.....I don't really know what to tell you Ichi, as I haven't been able to smell much more than the jasmine that grows outside my apartment in years.....maybe I am emitting smell, and that's why I can't smell anymore.....you may be onto something, darling!

Certainly smell could come out of your nose. Especially if you have a sinus infection. Remember, your sinus cavity is a mucous membrane and infection is these areas can cause foul odours. (I know you're not a chick, but think about how a female can smell DOWN THERE if she has an infection of some kind.)
The other reason could be if you somehow got a food item or something stuck up in your nose and it's going bad. I would think that you would be able to smell it, in this case.
As for 'smelling too much' you can't create a back logging of smell from smelling too much. The only thing that happens when you overuse your sniffer is your olfactory nerve gets overloaded and you stop being able to personally differentiate between smells for awhile.
Hope that helped!

I guess the mucus in there could have an odor. But what are the guys at work doing close enough to your face to smell something in your nose? That seems a bit odd to me.

Well a smell usually indicates an infection, so maybe go to the doctor?

I'm convinced everything has a smell. Therefore, based on my... conviction (is that improper diction?) my answer would be that your nose does infact emit a rather thick cabbagey smell.

it's probably just coming out of your mouth. mouth and nose are connected. i think the smell can't get used. it just passes into the phase in which your nostril sensors don't perceive it(if you are constantly smelling mint, eventually you won't smell it at all)

smell can come from your nose but not anything that u have already smelled, the smell will have been purely created in the nose, whatever it may be.

it's more likely coming out of your mouth -the entire system is connected though so a bit may be detectable from your nose.
