The THREE most difficult instruments to MASTER are guitar, violin, and piano. Flute is difficult because the technique has to be very precise for good tone, French Horn is difficult for the same reason, violin is difficult because its hard to master the techique... guitar is the easiest to learn, but one of the most difficult to master. Learn 2 chords on a guitar and you are a guitar player, but if you want to play like Segovia or Eddie Van Halen you will need to spend years practicing. Oboe and bassoon can also be very difficult due to technique required for proper tone production, but the three most difficult to master are the violin, the guitar, and the piano.

I would have to say the voice. It is an instrument if you use it correctly. But you have to maintain so many specifics. Tone quality, range, dynamics and enunciation is essential and because the instrument is part of YOU, your physical health is important, too. Let's face it it's not so hard to play bass with a cold, but singing? Whew!

i gotta go with piano
u know why ppl say if u know how to play the piano, u can easily learn other instruments as well.. cuz in order to play the piano, u need to have all the basic skills to play the other instruments
also u need to use both hands and ur feet to play it
on Fantasie Impromptu... u play duple on ur right hand while playing triple on ur left hand.. confusing huh?
i say.. there's a limitation to how professional u can play on other instruments.. but on piano, it's endless because u can play classical, jazz, country, pop, etc.
u can't play eletric guitar on classical pieces (which are harder than other type of music)

I would say it's the bassoon. To play the bassoon in orchestral music, you are required to be able to read bass clef, tenor clef, alto clef, and even treble cleff on occasion. In addition, there are 4 keys you need to press with your left thumb and there are 7 keys you need to press with your right thumb. You have to be really coordinated to play this instrument!!

They say: "The bass guitar is the easiest to pick up, but the most difficult to master."

The piano. Easy for beginners, frustrating for advanced players.
