Religion is a human made thing, cant say man made, it might sound sexist.
Religions were created to refrain people from doing evil, steal or any harm to others, it was supposed to be a deterrent.
Religion evolves like all other things, to benefit the slightly educated over the uneducated and thus bend the rules whenever required.
A few examples can easily given:
1. Catholic churches are in trouble now over Child abuse, who would have believed a childs word against the word of a Minister of the Church and a servant of God.
2. Islamic Mullas continuesly issue Fatwas, who does it benefit, Can any real or true muslim tell us where is it written in Holy Quran that you cannot watch television etc, Television was not even invented when Holy Quaran was written.
3. In Indian villages, the priest (brahmin) is ranked as the most educated person and who knows all about GOD. That priest will do anything for himself, who will speak against a man like that, he / she will be debarred from the village or punished. Suppose he wants someones wife and that wife refuses his advances, what will happen to that poor woman, who will believe her.
Religion teaches us wrong from right, but what we learn is obviously up to each individual.
Al-queda is misusing its influence on illitrate people.

YES, YES & YES........
always rules , commands, or scriptures
wrote as per condition of contemporary life.
In olden days, what was written in Religious books , is okay, but now a days, it should be changed, b,coz it was appropriate for that age .
but i feel, only illiterate people blindly follow all these rules, otherwise literate people use their logic and also guide others.
and Religious leaders are not that much free ,
because they have so many restrictions, to prove his capacity of being a religious leader so they are afraid of doing so..........
so being a rational,
i think, we shold start as a human being,
not following Hindu Religion, not Muslim, not Christian or not others......
creating a new religion and its language is of love,
and teaching us about art of living.......

Logic?- To-marrow another person will come with more logic. If I follow today's logic what will be my fate? We follow religion only to go to a better position after our death. We can not go by the logic of some body. If you can, burn the politics played by using religion, but not the sacred books of any religion.. They are our real treasure to whichever religion they may belong. It is like burning ones own house to kill the rats.

Logically, it makes sense to sacrifice 1000 children to save 1001. By that rational we should immediately begin testing new drugs on people, kill anyone with a transmittable disease or resort to using nuclear weapons as first choice to prevent drawn out conflicts.
logic without moral grounds is lost.
