Here's the $100,000 question folks...
So if its legal to smoke poison filled cigaretts-
And buy alchohol why not roll a fattie?
Besides how many people get drunk and abuse their children and wives as opposed to those who are stoned? A little red eye doesn't make the average Cheech & Chong a raving maniac. What up with that?

I wanted to give you one thing else to ponder on...
What about those native and indiginous (sp?) indians who use it in ceremony? Or for spiritual reasons. Should their cultural beliefs be disregarded?

Have you ever heard of the term gateway drug? Cause that's exactly what it is. Not only should it stay illegal but the time for the crime should be quadrupled. And if you deal the crap you should be put to death!!!!!!! smoke that!!!!!!

I am a supporter of choice. Folks that want to smoke it, should be able to. Folks that don't, should not have to be around it- somewhat like the indoor ban on smoking cigarettes. I figure the only reason it's illegal is because as of yet, it can't be taxed- such as alcohol or cigarettes. Once the government figure out how to/find a justification for applying a sales tax, then it will become legal. It is all about money. Alcohol wasn't always legal. Neither was the whole sale of tobacco. Once the government figured out a way to make a profit from it, there was no more need for bootleggers- they were no longer in business.
Although I am a regular smoker, I'm not one of those people who try to justify it to other people. If you think it's wrong, it is- for you. Smoking poses no more of a problem for me than eating greasy, fried food or breatheing in all the air pollutants from car exhaust to dust. I have never been involved in a car accident. I have never sold any of my possessions to get it. I have never acted out of character while under the influence of it. I don't use it to escape my problems in everyday life. Maybe, it has caused problems for some people. Those people should not smoke. Everything isn't for everybody.
Cheech & Chong, Half- Baked.. those movies show a poor example of how to use marijuana. Following those habits will lead you into abusing it. Those guys didn't just get a buzz.. they rolled the biggest joint they could and got fuc'd up. Anything used excessively will cause more harm than good. I think as long as there was an age limit restriction on who could and could not buy it, as with alcohol or cigarettes, it should be legalized.

I feel as though it should TOTALLY be LEGAL!!!! If you look back in time you will notice that a lot of royalty smoked it even presidents the would get it from different cultures who would smoke it as a relaxation ritual or a welcome trype ritual. I would be very happy if thats how I was welcomed. But seriously it's true. I think alcohol is much much more addicting and also more harmfull. I know that "Mary Jane" doesn't make me want to jump out windows as portrayed in old movies that were used to scare kids from using it. I also think that if given a chance of being legal people would relise its not all that bad and they probley would enjoy the experience of being completely comfortable in their own skin and just in a relaxed state. For people who get paranoid they need to stop thinking and relax and the parnoia will go a way. Thank you for asking and have a nice day!

I guess you do not have kids, my freaking neighbor smokes marijuana, and the smell is bad, my kids can smell the ****.If you smoke marijuana in a discrete place where you do not disturb others with it, it is OK, i guess.
But what are guaranties that some stupids that are already addicts do it everywhere, also if you are mentioning the killing tobacco cigarettes and alcohol, why don't just fight to stop those products of being so easy to buy, instead adding one more(marijuana) to the list? I guess is your right to do or smoke whatever you want, but unless is not for medical treatment(cancer) it should not be used at all.

I don't use it but it should be legalized. Its no different than alcohol, as a matter of fact, if you give me choice to ride in a car with a person that drank a few beers, or someone that smoked a fatty, I'd ride with the smoker everytime.

Legalize it..and then tax it like alcohol. That would generate 100's of millions of dollars. Whenever something is illegal, it just makes it nontaxable- it doesn't mean people wont use it.
