It is only deleted off of your phone, but believe me, there is still a copy of it, that is the phone number and time only at the phone company in their records. So while phone companies do not have the actual words to what ever the message said, they have the time and date and the number of the person who sent you the call, recorded and saved as part of your phone records..

You may or may not have noticed this is why cell phone records are often brought into court to use as evidence.

Anything you delete on almost all electronic devices are not truly deleted. For most electronic devices when you delete something you are only deleting the "link" to that data, the data shows that it is removed but usually with some extra help with a 3rd party applicaiton you can bring back almost anything.

The only way to truly delete something is via the manufactures to wipe data clean or "shred" it.
