I think it would be cheaper. He doesn't eat or requiring supervision when he is dead. The chemicals used to kill him probably don't cost that much and if you incinerate his body and scatter the ashes, that doesn't cost all that much either.

OK these figures are from the mid-90s then it cost 30,000 a year to imprison somebody taking into consideration guards pay, clothes, food, etc. There's no way to know how long they will live. And they will become eligible for parole eventually. To execute a guy the cost would be like a million dollars but that's all spent in 5 years, approximately, and doesn't include imprisoning costs! That mil goes for court costs burial costs and costs of the last rites, the state has to pay! Now that was about 10 years ago I'm sure the cost has increased!

I'm not sure, but I know it would be more than 50 cents for the bullet since all capital punishment sentances get automatic appeals which cost a fair amount of coin.

I do not know the difference between the subsequent court costs versus incarcerating some one...but I would like to know.

A bullet cost about 50 cents and about 35,000 dollars a year to incarcerate.

Executing prisoners is pretty cheap...I'll even buy all the bullets or rope.

However, what is expensive is all the lawyers who defend these shi*bags.
