5 thoughts:

1) Those guitars are super chimey.

2) Wow, there's a lot of estrogen on that stage!

3) This is a nice upbeat, uplifting tune that reminds me of Mary's big hit "Passionate Kisses," which was written by Lucinda Williams, whom I just mentioned in my answer to another one of your questions. (Weird...)

4) The harmonies are fantastic, but how could they not be?

5) Is it me or is Emmylou Harris EVERYWHERE? (Not a bad thing, mind you. I'm just sayin'...)

Thanks for posting this!

This song is sad to me. It makes me think of a woman living a totally unfulfilled life. She's doing all the right things, raising kids and keeping the household running, and the only affection she ever gets is when her husband puts his arm around her at a party [with a drink in the other hand] and says to the guys "I think I'll keep her".

Of course, the vocal performance is great, but this song has always conjured up very sad images to me.

Yes that was awesome. but they all have changed alot since then.Trisha has since married Garth Brooks and Kathy Matea lost her husband he passed on. Everything has changed for these ladies. Mary Chapin -Carpenter has almost retired i think it is a shame. she is really talented.

I think it is not a great song and why did I waste my time listening to it. Sorry. You asked.
