I have graduated in Computer Science two years ago, but my programming skill is very very basic, in university there are many modules to deal with, but I would imagine now I can do something to be a good programmer, but I don't know where and how to start

Start with an easy language like vb 2005 (its free)

It will give you the "hey i can do it" attitude.

As you go along in vb you will notice some things you cant do (which will be limited) and say hey how do i do that. that may lead you to other languages.

Please ignore the concensous of most people saying start with c/c++. It is difficult and it takes a lot of code to see small results. that was my problem when i first learned to program 8 years ago. PS i still use mainly VB to this day.

Buy some beginner books on VB and as you go along you will find out the areas that interest you and buy books on that subject or look it up on the net.

Learn it for your possess. When you gain knowledge of a programming language its higher while you encourage your self to do matters then to be pressured to. Also, from going to institution for CIS, I can say that the professors I have had didn't have a lot talents on discipline topic and after a short while it was once handy to avoid the teachers potential (granted I did not pass to the excellent viable institution for pc comparable majors, however that was once simply one among my majors so it was once wherein I ended). The secret is discovering well assets for the language you're studying. If you're watching to gain knowledge of a programming language first determine the kind where you gain knowledge of excellent from, whether or not its relatively wordy textual content or a publication that has plenty of examples however little idea. From there seek publication stories or ask questions in this. If your watching to begin take a look at personal home page(internet-situated apps) or vb(more than a few apps - I've made video games, vba apps, and others with it whilst I began out), they are going to introduce you simpler then one of the vital different languages. (ie java which can also be irritating with out a programming revel in)

If you have a degree in Computer Science, and are asking people on yahoo! answers how to program, maybe it's time for a career change.

Seeing as how you didn't specify what language you program in, I would say that Microsoft's Visual Basic Studio Express Edition would be a great place to start for the software to use to make your programs. This is available at http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express

In terms of learning how to use the software, check out www.learnvisualstudio.net

Hope this helps!

First research the most relevant programming languages/platforms then read and do. Also hang out with geeks. School in not necessary. I know quite few now-professional developers who left collage early to take high paying jobs. If you take classes I would take marketing and business classes to learn how to market yourself and manager you cash…
