I think Madonna would be the best....
Short black skirt, bright fishnet tights,black anckle boots, off the shoulder belly top showing your bra, loads of bangles on each arm and tie ribbons on your arms too......Back comb your hair and don't forget the beauty spot and wear sunglasses and bright red lippy........ta-dah!!! we have Madonna!

Obviously, you would need to go as a star which is easily recognisable. In the 80's there where quite a number of colourful characters, people like Madonna, Toyah, Boy George, Bjork, Dolly Parton etc.

Go as Georege Michael, all you need is white shorts, t-shirt with some bold writing e.g. RELAX and a pair of sun glasses....great too if you could get a friend to dress as Andrew Ridgely....in the same style of clothes.Just thought of another...Crocket and Tubbs from Miami Vice, don't over do it on the stubble and fake tan though lol!!!

I think Boy George is a good one for male or female. You know the braids with ribbon twisted in. The combat boots, baggy pants, and trench coat. Don't forget the hat and tons of makeup.

Madonna
Leggings, a short skirt, a lacy basque top, ripped denim jacket or leather biker jacket, a piece of lace to tie your hair back, converse boots.
LOTS of crucifixes! Crucifix earrings too! OR big hoopy earrings.
Lots of make up, eyeliner, pale pink lippy.
Oh yes, sadly I was there in the 80s!
