no offense to absolutely anyone, i was just wondering wether people try to be labelled as an "outcast" or a "goth" just because its "in" those days..

Some people just look good in black and like a more striking style than average. I personally prefer the black styles to "sagging". Some of them look sharp.

I haven't seen a lot of extremes on makeup in Wyoming. Maybe the Goth movement hasn't caught on here. Hard to be totally depressing when the skies are blue and the weather is nice and there's a lot you can do outdoors.

Generally people who themselves identify as goths do it because they choose to, not because everybody around them labelled them. Depending on the age, they might be doing it as a phase, to make a statement, as rebellion, or that just the style that they like.
Trust me, you can be labelled as an outcast even by dressing just as everybody else does...black has nothing to do with it.

Besides, if you think that the gothic look is "in" nowadays, you haven't been paying much attention to the past 3 decades. It was never "in" nor was it ever "out" ...it's just there...always. There are moments of higher popularity of the style now and then...particularly when a high budget vampire of sci-fi movie hits theaters, but all in all it's a fairly constant presence.

Just as there will always be those people wearing sports jerseys or cowboy hats or tie-dye, there will always be the people wearing black. You just happened to notice all of a sudden.

my wardrobe has more black in it than any other color but i`m not goth nor have i ever considered myself goth. in my younger days i fancied myself a vampire, even had my nails black and of course the white face to go with it but that was an eternity ago. some are posers, some are just trying to find were they fit. black is a good color and looks good on most people so i say how cares you live your life i live mine we all die in the end. it is not you who must live with their decisions but you must live with your own.

ummm, well, it depends. its pretty obvious to tell the difference between posers and the ppl who r really like that. i love wearing black, but i don't consider myself ''goth'' because of that. some ppl just like the color, others ARE posers, and the rest r really THAT way. if u do some ''research'', then maybe u'll be able to figure out the true personality of someone.
