I'm only about five weeks preggo, by the way, but I've been having panic attacks like crazy.

If I can't take anything for them, is there some hope that it will go away once I hit the 12 week mark?

WELCOME TO MOTHERHOOD.

your child will be bringing on those attacks for the rest of your life. if you think this is bad...wait till he/she is a teenager!!!

but talk to your doctor. it may be due to the high hormone level.

Why are you feeling so anxious? Is it fear because of the pending childbirth?
I was so terrified to have my daughter, I was 19 years old, that I actually fooled my body into NOT going into labor! I went almost an additional 3 weeks past my due date, they COULD NOT induce me, my cervix was somehow turned inward, they started my spinal for the C-Section, I freaked out so bad my body rejected the meds! They had to do 3 of them before it worked. I got lucky then, a nurse knew how scared I was and actually cared, she comforted me and got me calm. They did the C-Section and my daughter 9 pounds 4 ounces was born!
Recovery from the C-Section was a breeze at that age too.
Child birth is scary....but what isnt that we have never done before?
God made us to bear children...it is the most natural thing.
At 30 I had my second child. C-Section...no problems.
I would contact a local midwyfe or an OB/GYN, find a caring nurse, talk to them about your fears...they are real and validated believe me!!! I know!!!
I wish you the very best for a beautiful childbirth experience, a healthy wonderful pregnancy and a blessing from God - your adorable baby - as a reward for all of this anxiety.

Try some breathing exercises and imagery. You gotta relax.

If youre having these attacks thinking about pregnancy or being a mom, don't worry, everything will be just fine. You'll see. I was scared to death about both and it is just fine. Better than I could have ever imagined. Good luck. Really, try breathing exercises and do them seriously.

You probably will feel a little better once the first trimester is over. The first trimester is when most miscarriages happen. But, in the mean time, it would probably be wise to talk to your doctor...he/she may be able to alliviate some of your fears.

I think the combintation of hormones and nerves/excitement are contributing to it. Talk to the dr, he might be able to give you something for it. If not, as the pregnancy progresses and you're feeling more secure then they'll probably stop. Good luck and Congratulations!!!

see your doctor to make sure you are healthy, and if there is no medical cause, schedule an appointment with a therapist to work on your anxiety issues. You should also look into prenatal yoga classes as well as relaxation-type classes to help you learn to relax yourself.

good luck!
