Good question. Why do bullets spark when they hit cars in movies(it doesn't happen I used to have an old bread truck on my property that I shot at all of the time).I guess the directors didn't include this in the details. You'll see lots of things on TV and movies that aren't right. You're supposed to be exercising "suspension of disbelief" while watching such things. It's totally absurd that he even speaks or was raised by apes and monkeys.Might as well make him look good.

Some men just can't grow a beard - Njal for example in the Saga of Burnt Njal.
Alternatively, he shaves his beard or he really did have a beard but is wrongly represented in the books, comics and films as not having one.
Is this really a current event?

Well..few questions to counter it..
Why doesnt Superman have a beard?
Why doesnt Spiderman have a beard?
Why doesnt Phantom have a beard?
Why dosent Mandrake have a beard?
Why dosent Lothar have a beard?
Why dosent George of the Jungle have a beard?
Why dosent Mowgli have a beard?
Well..possibilities are
1: Either they shave their beard every morning. OR
2. They must be cartoons with faces drawn up..

Hey, I wondered that when I was 16 years old ....and never thought to actually ask it.
I just assume that the chimps he lived with taught him to shave (unlikely, but I ran out of other options), both his face and his upper half (don't know about the other half).
I did wonder as to where he purchased his essential supply of razor blades too, but I didn't want to spoil things for the Adults and ruin their fantasies.
I just wish I'd thought to ask this here. I must rummage through my memory banks and see what else is lurking from my past thinking.
Sash.

Shaving has been around since before Gillette or Wilkinson Sword, in fact since around 10000BC
see the link for some interesting historical facts about shaving. Perhaps he used one of these methods, or perhaps he was a fictional character and thus doesn't have the restraints of the real world upon him

Because Disney wishes it! He didn't have nipples in the cartoon version for ages, can't be scandalising all those youngsters!
Besides he'd look too much like Pluto from Popeye with a beard.
