The reason is because the Sun and the Moon are sufficiently far away that they will always appear to be at the same position in the sky for any given observer. Of course, I am talking about the Sun and the Moon appearing to be in the same position in the sky for a given moment, since the Earth rotates on its axis and the Sun and the Moon will appear to move across the sky over some period of time. But at any given time, any observer such as yourself would see the Sun or the Moon at a certain position in the sky, and if you were moving, such as in a car or a train etc., you couldn't move far enough away for the Sun or the Moon to appear to have change positions in the sky.
The same effect occurs when you look at a large mountain in the horizon. And if an object you're looking at did move away from you while you're moving, then it's obvious that the object isn't very far from you to begin with.

It's because of a term called parallax.
Put your thumb and inch away from both eyes. Now, close your left eye. Note where your thumb is in relation to distant objects, such as a trash can or a door. Now, close your right eye, and open your left eye. Where is the thumb now? In a very different place relative to the surroundings! Pretend that instead of flashing between eyes, you walked between your eyes--walking from one place to another. The thumb would be a road sign or mountains or something that doesn't move with you as you move. But the door or the trash can "moves with you" as you move. That's because not only is it so much farther away, it is big enough for you to see it. If there was a pencil as far out as the moon was, there would be no way to ever see it and have it follow you (without a telescope of course, which would work--A telescope will stay aimed on that object even if it is on a truck going at 50 mph {given that the telescope doesn't endure shocks or wind resistance}). Parallax, my dear, is the answer.

thats not true, actually if u have ever travelled train , u can see the closest tree move towards opposite direction and on the other hand the far awya trees seems to be moving in the slowly in the same direstion of ours,, we call it paralax in our physics language.. these is a kinda eyes error... but u dont worry actually actuall sun and moon folow stars like u on earth so be happy

We are moving so slowly compared to them we can see no difference in the distance. Imagine seeing through the eyes of a tortoise moving very slowly. The Earth wouldn't appear to be moving, though if you moved far enough you'd see the difference.

They are not moving along with us. They are moving on their own way. But since they are very heavenly bodies, we can not observe their original motion.
But they seem to move along with us. It is just like if you look at the picture of any person with centred eyes, you feel the person in the picture is looking at you. At the same time the other person who looks at that picture will also gets the same feeling.
In the same way every one feel like the moon is moving along with them.

earth is revolving in its own orbit around sun and earth is sphere in shape sun has a big hugein size uncomparable with earth so we feel that sun is moving with us however we see moon because moon is our sattellite it continously rotate in its own orbit around earth
