Right mouse button click on your windows desktop and go to preference. If you're running XP, you should see a Display area there - click around - there's lots of options.

If you have administrator rights, right click on a blank area of your desktop, click on Properties and click on the Appearance tab. You can then choose the Windows Standard appearance from a drop-down list.

go to your control panel, next desktop, and then you will be able to setup everything on your desktop from the background to the text.

you have to go to your control panel, appearance and themes, display then the appearance tab and you can choose from there
