He's 5 foot nothing ah hundred and nothing but he ran for 350 rushing yards last week and he has over 1000 yards in 5 games. He's a monster. He's on pace to run for over 3000 yards.

Get this though, the first game of the year he accounted for something like 180 - 200 all purpose yards on the number 1 team in the nation Ohio State. He does play 1 or 2 games on espn2 this year. I'll be watching

Does he deserve it? Yes

Will he get it? Probably not

As far as the gentleman that referred to NIU's schedule as a weenie schedule, your basis of judgment is off. Yes, G. Wolfe plays against MAC defenses. However, he also runs behind a MAC offensive line. It's not like it's an o-line from a top 10 team playing against a 1-AA d-line. What Garrett does is amazing.

For those that believe his OSU yards came against the second string, watch the tape. 12 yards came against the replacement players, with the rest coming against the starters.

For those who think he's just running up numbers against weak teams and padding his stats, note that he was pulled from the Indiana State game at the beginning of the third quarter. He could have stayed in and probably broke 400 yards on the ground. Garrett has even stated that he thinks of stat padding as cheating. He is earning his yards. Against all of the major school opponents he has played against, he has torn them up. Take a peek at some stats. I specifically remember him running wild on Michigan.

For those with one line responses like "Troy Smith for Heisman" or "Ginn and Smith!", please elaborate. Please explain to me why they deserve it more than Garrett. An answer of "because they go to OSU" or anything similar doesn't count.

Wolfe is the next Barry Sanders! Push Reggie Bush aside! Wolfe is the most underrated and unexposed player in that nation! For crist sake what he has been doing on the grid-iron is ridiculas, and that Ohio State game was amazing in my opinion! He was a one man show! And showed that he could perform against the top teams in that nation. Wolf would probably be the only running back who would put those kinds of numbers up against OSU. Garrett Wolfe reminds me a lot though of Priest Holmes, what he lacks in size and height, he makes up for the quickest damn juke moves i have ever seen in my life. And I would say if he were 6'0 tall, he would definetly be consider #1 or #2 pick in the draft next year. For all those people who dont follow UNI or know anything about this kid, can't say he shouldn't be considered up their for Heisman. It's ok though, this kid will show the NFL what he is all about! Seriously, he puts up ridiculas numbers every game! He did it last year, the year before, and you see now! Yeah he is playing for UNI, and that will probably be his downfall in the race for the Heisman. But I can boldly say that... and dont get me wrong... that Garrett Wolfe is a better RB than Adrian Peterson and Reggie Bush... I know most of the people on the planet would not agree with any of this. But mark my words! At the end of Wolf's NFL career he would put up better numbers than Bush or Peterson. Not to mention he is going to blow out Sanders college rushing yards title.

Garrett Wolfe should be in the running for the Heisman at the end of this year, he's had a great season so far. However he plays for NIU and therefore i dont think he'll recieve enough national exposure and will not have played enough legitimate defenses to put him ahead of the guys like Troy Smith, Brady Quinn, and Adrian Peterson

I think Garrett Wolfe will come in third place for the Heisman behind troy smith and Adrian Peterson. i have to say i think Garrett Wolfe is the best running back in college right now and i do believe he will be a better back in the NFL than Adrian Peterson although i have to say Adrian Peterson is a great running back but with the style that Garrett Wolfe possess he will dominate in the NFL throughout his career. he reminds me of Barry Sanders but he's not quite there on that level but he has great vision and speed like him. i think it would be Reggie Bush and Garrett Wolfe as two of the top back in the NFL within five to six years. Wolfe would probably get drafted in the third round, but i think he deserves to get drafted first round.

honestly right now he should be the heisman trophy winner. the fact that he put up 150 yds on a very talented ohio state defensive shows that he is the real deal. i mean ohio state has one of the top recruiting classes in the nation every year. they are obviously no push-over. and the fact that he is dominating the teams in his weak division that he should be dominating shows that he is well-deserving and should get the heisman trophy if he continues on this path

Troy Smith for Heisman

A player in a mid-major conference won't win the Heisman unless they have consecutive monster seasons. It's just not going to happen, because he needs the exposure, and he'll only get that if he's great one year (to get exposure) and then great again (to get votes).

Unfortunately, most players will leave for the NFL if they have 1 Hesiman worthy season, much less a 2nd.

I went to Columbus and saw him play against the Bucks. (OSU fan here) and the guy was amazing. I think he will definately be invited to the presentation and if he keeps doing what he is doing who knows what could happen.

I think currently he is definately in the top 3 in everyone's list. But, as stated by another Yahoo answer junkie... you need the national exposure and need to win the big games. I think most of it has to do with statisics but It's not always about stats.

He'll never get close because a lot of his yards are coming late in games against that weenie schedule they play. If he were to put up such numbers against a good team, even if NIU got stomped, he'd have more of a chance.
