save some money and get the ticket reduced by using a lawyer. Than you will save money in the long run because your insurance will not go up. The lawyer for a traffic ticket should cost around $250.00. Good luck.

The camera ticket is just a fine. It does not get reported on your driving record because they have no way of proving whether or not you were driving the vehicle. As for the ticket that you got for running the red light, go to court.. see about getting a court date ASAP if the officer did not give you a court date when he gave you the ticket.

In court you will have the opportunity to explain your side of the story. The judge will not take offense if you plead "not guilty" because its consideration that you want. Most times if you go to court, the fine and the points are reduced or you could just very well get off scott-free by paying the fine. Sometimes if the court room is over crowded the judge will give everyone the opportunity to pay the minimum fine with no points in exchange for a guilty plea just so he can clear out the room. Suppose that the judge finds you guilty anyway and you are still stuck with the points, then you can appeal the case.. and over time you can prolong your final judgement as long as 6 to 8 months without the insurance company ever knowing that you got a ticket. Sometimes the judge will grant you with "probation" where he will dismiss the case if you go 6 months without any other infractions.

Try looking into prepaid legal services. It's a service where you pay roughly $26 a month and you have attorney's on retainer that can help you out in situations such as these. I'm not sure they can help you on these two tickets b/c they are pre-existing cases but can definitely help in the future. I've gotten three tickets over the past 18 months and none have appeared on my insurance or have caused my insurance to increase. They've always set me up with deferred adjudication to avoid that.

The website to get more information is www.prepaidlegalservices.com. I hope this helps.

Do you have any other tickets recently? If not, you can check to see if you can get into a diversion program. Contact the traffic court for details. In most cases, if you fulfill the diversion requirements and don't get any other tickets, the ticket does not go against your record. It is generally only a onetime thing so pay attention and don't get any more tickets.
