I have always been proud to be an America.... I am more so now since September 11, 2001......... I would like to see an INTERNATIONAL day of observance on September 11, and see more things being done to celebrate the lives that were lost at the hands od cowards.... memorials, dedications...... seems the Country has forgotten we are at WAR..... I would like to see it talked about more in schools, too.... I have a 10th grader and the war is never a subject of discussion..... that's a disgrace.. this generation has no clue......

I have always been proud to be an American and always will be.
I am less proud of this country the last few years because some of our elected officials are trying to divide the country and undermine the war on terrorism just for political gain. I am less proud of this country because some of our elected officials want to open the borders to non citizens and give them the rights and privileges that my father and grandfather fought for. I am less proud of this country because some of our elected officials used a natural disaster such as Hurricane Katrina as a political tool to discredit their opposition instead of working to fix a genuine problem

.Of course I'm proud, however, its not so much a matter of pride as it is a matter of empathy for those who lost their families and lives in the tragedy. I am however very Proud of the New Yorkers for doing their best to go on and rebuild. But in all honesty, of course I would have been hurt even if it happened somewhere else. That many innocent lives destroyed in one moment will make anyone concerned and saddened

You know, on 9/11/01, we had the sympathy of the world in our hands, and have since sqandered that due to our invasion of Iraq under false pretenses. We were rigth to pursue binLaden and his gang, but had no real justification for Iraq. Killing all these people and throwing away all these lives over lies is shameful, so I would have to say less proud--much less proud.

I am more proud because since then, I have had a coming of age. Not necessarily as a result of 9/11, it's just that that is where I am in my life. Coincidence.

I think I am as proud as I was on 9/10/01. Living in the NYC area, I have developed more admiration for police and firefighters as a result of 9/11/01.

September 11th did not change how proud I am of being an American. My pride in being American has been steadily going downhill since Bush was "elected" in 2000. He is an embarassment to our country.
