how much percent to take away to come to a exact number you want. I want to know how much percent to take away, 320 - ?% = 240 and 320 - ?% = 180. Does any one know the questions for these answers, If they do. Can you tell me how you did it? I don't know how to do it the fast way.

I got it. 100x180=18,000 divide into 320 = 56.25%

How about 180 + ?% = 320 and 240 + ?% = 320

the easy way to figure out these problems is to make it into a proportion.......amount of change / the original amount = % / 100.

Since the first question is going from 320 to 240, it changes 80 (subtract) 80 = %
___ ___
320 100 now cross multiply to find the value.
80 X 100 = 8000
8000 = 320x divide by 320 to get your answer....x = 25%

do the same for the next problem....43.75%

Wait a minute. This is just addition and subtraction. It cant be that hard. Your want to know what percent to add or subtract to get your answer. Percent of what? Percent of the number your adding to or subtracting from? Some other number? I think I got it. First I did the addition or subtraction to find the number I needed. Then I divided this number by the other number to get a percent. Move the decimal to the right two places. I think that's right.
