writing a story....need help?

Question

i just posted a question but people felt that i need to give more details so here they are along with question-

okay im writing a story, and i need help with a very silly thing but anyway,

the main character is a footballer.
okay now please don't laugh, but i can't make up my mind about where he should meet his girlfriend. i don't want them to meet at a nightclub, as is the case with most footballers.

he is a professional soccer player
and i wanted to make her different from the typical wag so I decided that she's either a journalist or works in publishing.
oh, and the story is based in london.

he walks by a library and see's her walk in, he follows her in and has never been in a library before. So he tries to impress her, and fails, but she laughs about it, and he asks her out. Good luck on your story

London. Maybe they should meet waiting for a doctor in the clinics there. Seems they have fairly long wait times, and I could believe a soccer player may have need of medicl attention. And a female jounalist could easily have acid reflux, cancer, or some job injury as well.
The bar scene is overly-used. Eating alone at a cafe also. There's meeting while shopping, while having a traffic accident, while working, or one of them offering to help the other out of some type of predictament, like a flat tire, getting or paying for a service (taxi, lunch, toll, ...)
I met my husband when he called looking for a speaker at a safety meeting. She could even meet him calling for an interview.

It depends if this is pure romance, an adventure/ action, or a pure sports drama. He could be having publicity trouble and she's one of the best PR specialist around. Unfortunately, she only handles political figures, so he has to come up with a way to get her to help him so he can do more commercials or something ...
The more obstacles they have to face the better the story usually, so its best if she isn't a groupie. Although, ... when you are writng a story the sky's the limit.

I write stories all the time so I think I can help you out honey! *smiles* Okay, I think the footballer should meet his girlfriend at a school dance maybe. Does the story take place in high school or college or is he an adult playing football? If it does take place in high school then maybe a school dance. If it takes place in college then he should meet her at a ralley of some sort or if he's an adult playing football then he should meet her at some kind of function. But the choice is all yours! These are just some examples of what I think.

Now I'm not so sure about the second part of your question who is the professional soccer player? And I guess the girl, she should work in publishing or she could do both!

She's working at a Major Publishing firm and he sees her as he's going to practice one day and he drives by the next day hoping to catch a glimpse of her and it becomes a routine for him to stop by when he's going to practice. But he doens't talk to her because she looks like a blue collar chick and wouldn't give him the time of day. But what he doens't know is that she sees him everyday and she's falling for him but she don't think that such a good soccer player would be interested in a bookworm like herself.

u know really its hard to give an advice in ur situation but i will try to give u the best as i could;

if the story was based in london:london sports arena
i think the stories goes like dz:
this day is their 1st year anniversary and the championship game of the guy..the guy can't get leave his team due to he is the best player of the team...the guy was torn between the anger of his gf and the game...the guy choose to play thats why his gf walk out with angry feelings...so that morning till early evening the guy played and luckily their teams won the game... suddenly the guy remember her gf...without changing his played suits he rush to his gf's house to win her back...but the girl was so furious that she slums the door and lock it but becoz the guy was so insisted,he went to the back of the house and find the his gf's window...he climbed until he reach the window but the window was lock so he did is he open the window by his fist(the window was made in glass)not bothering by the cut in his fist and some blood running on it..he went to the girl and embraced her tight..the girl was so shocked that she freeze and speechless...then the guy carry her gf and runs to go to the sports arena...then the girl again speechless seeing that the place was crowded by a band and some of his team mates. then she was put to the chair infront of many...then his bf serenade her along w/ his co players and the band.....they perform like westlife,or simple plan..etc.oppss to add little (their voice is not really good )

How about meeting at a diner? Makes it a little bit more romantic and more of an intelligent way to meet.

Have one being depressed or talking about something and the other one joining in trying to help/ or just making input.

Why not have him meet her at a charity function? That way, she could be the type that would be disdainful of athlete's in general or perhaps she is of a group that would be against her kind and his kind mixing, but she has a secret crush on this guy.

Think about where he would go and what he would do. What are his habits? Think about where she would go and what she would do. What are her habits? Now what's the common link?
