Come on, everyone knows this is the main cause of the abortion epidemic. All good, decent conservatives admit this.

I give an example from the Bible.
The stigma on unwed mothers is so power, that God had to send an angel to tell Joseph that it was okay to wed Mary, even though she was pregnant out of wedlock.
They would have stoned her had an angel not been sent.
I think that God was trying to tell us something here.

I would like to start with saying that I have worked with couples and single women who have contemplated and decided to have abortions.
I think that what you say is partially true. There is a stigma among conservatives that goes along with abortion.
But what if these same people believe that abortion is not only harmful to the next generation but also to the mothers who undergo the procedure? What if they think that it is objectively a bad idea? Check out the book: LIME 5 by Mark Crutcher for more on this.
In a perfect world parents would raise their children to respect the dignity of one another and be very careful with whom they choose to share their intimacy. The problem is our parents don't seem to have a good idea of what the purpose of sex is. Thank you Woodstock.
Very few of the young women who walk through the doors of an abortion clinic were forced to have sex and thereby become pregnant. The ones I have spoken to feel like they are caught in a trap. Why? Because if they have the child then they miss out on educational opportunities, career advancement, travel, all the freedom of the single, unattached life. The baby was not in their plans so they want it to go away and their life can return to normal.
Only problem is that life doesn't return to normal because once you make a decision like that it can't. We have to learn to take responsibility for our actions. Every one of our decisions has consequences, whether we like them or not.

I think I hear your mommy calling you. Yeah, the stigma is sooo huge that over 60% of child born today are born to unwed mothers. I think they are truly worried and upset about what conservatives are thinking about them because I see the number going way down. Perhaps you need to do a little research before you speak your ridiculous idea! Now, don't you have homework to do or something, kid?

The reasons span the spectrum, and are different for every woman. That is why we are protected by the right of privacy...it is not anyone's business why women choose what they choose, but impportant to note that women have always chosen what is best for them and their families. This is evidenced by the number of single moms vs single dads, the laws placing all crimes against children in the mother's name, and the number of birth control options for women vs men, and the simple fact that women are the ones that grow them and birth them. This isn't about abortion, it is about families. And women have historically taken care of them. Funny, I don't see men falling over themselves to take up some of the responsibility, just those trying to limit a woman's choices when dealing with family matters

It may be one cause. But the #1 cause of abortions is a lack of education in more impoverished areas. It is a proven fact that in areas where there is not a great educational system or in areas which do not teach sexual education, teen pregnancies abound. It is the conservatives fault that schools are not properly funded and sex education is often not taught in many districts.

Those who get abortions have a more humane view of God: He wouldn't want a child to be born unwanted and unsupported financially; He wouldn't give us this strong sex drive and punish us with unwanted consequences--He would want us to think of it as a gift from a kind God and not a trap, so He always wanted us to do something about the destructive, Satanic imbalance in its aftereffects.

At least you gave it a creative twist. But, NO, the #1 cause of abortion is getting pregnant when the child is not wanted and killing it because it is convenient. These women make these choices for themselves. It is ridiculous to blame conservatives because these women OBVIOUSLY do not care what other people think.

No. The cause is the fact that most of these women cant afford or don't want children.
