No, dry cleaning is a lot of money to spend to clean all your clothes. Woolite has a detergent that actually doesn't spoil your clothes over time. I started using it a month ago and I saw results. Try that first.

You really need to go by the manufacturer's recommendation. Dry cleaning will ruin some clothes, it can even melt some materials and it's hard on beads and tassles (found that out the hard way!). Some clothes are better off in a cold wash gentle cycle and some need to be washed by hand and dried flat.

No, generally speaking the chemicals in the dry cleaning process are harsher than detergents used for washing.

Depends on garment....some cannot be dry cleaned and others should not be laundered. follow the recommendations on the care label. If you have the choice, dry cleaning will prolong a garment's life...however, it will eat a hole in your wallet.

dry cleaning your clothes does give them a longer life span. washing and drying is hard for the fabric....

i wash and then hang to dry my clothes... it helps them last longer and also you have to use a detergent that wont be harmful to your clothes...
