How about things that you can use together like a bottle of wine and the ice bucket and glasses to go with it . Hell go all out and get the cheese and crackers platter, cheese cutter, ect. to go with the whole wine and cheese theme.

That would depend.... See if he needs anything like dishes and towels. My boyfriend moved and he only had one bath towel! Guys need stuff --I would just see what he needs and then go from there.
