Albino burmese pythons tend to look very impressive, but are very docile and harmless. Boa constrictors, rainbow boas, and some other pythons are also good.
Try looking for a snake breeder in your area and see if he would be willing to help out. Many large-scale breeders do educational shows and probably have large, docile snakes that you could work with. Check www.kingsnake.com and look at the breeders list, you can probably find one in your area.

probably a boa, pythons tend to be a little more finnicky, id use an adult male, put an add out in your local newspaper for local collectors/snake owners stating your purpos, youll end up paying a small fee to "rent" the animal but at least a snake thats been kept as a pet the owner will know its personality better.
one from a petstore you can never realy tell what your getting!
ALL snakes can bite and constrict, adult male boas tend to be the most mellow and at lenghts over 7ft long and beautufl patterns and colours there certainly an intimidating creature...
but rember, they also weigh a ton so if your lead singer is a smaller woman id look for a younger pet boa or even something a little less bulkie but absolutly stunning a red factor adult corn snake, they can get 5-6ft long but are long and slender, the colours are Absolutly stunning and will certinaly be easier in the lifting the weight factor!

ummm i think i would find a good graphics person to just put the snake in, I dont think i would use a real snake. If you choose not to do that, i would go with someones tame python or boa constrictor.

I think a juvenile albino burmese python would look cool. It would have to have an owner who regularly handles it. Also, Boa Contrictors are cool, and they are very docile. I have one, and he is very chill.
You could ask a local snake breeder to loan you one with his supervision.
