THis is a pretty good website. Go on it and put your info into it and it tells you what the chances of your children having whatever eye color is.

If your husband's parent who has brown eyes has nothing but Brown eyes in the family your child will have brown eyes. If your husband's parent has brown eyes and blue-brown or green brown genes then your child has a chance to have blue eyes.

This website is good

Blue is a recessive trait. Your baby has a 50/50 chance of having blue or brown eyes since you have two blue eyed genes and your husband has one blue, one brown eyed gene.

In simple terms:
1/2 MOM + 1/2 DAD = CHILD
blue + blue = blue
blue + brown = brown
brown + blue = brown
brown + brown = brown

MOM = blue/blue, because you have blue eyes
DAD = blue/brown or brown/brown, because he has brown eyes

If your husband has blue/brown, then:
- Half your children will have blue eyes (blue/blue), half your children will have brown eyes (blue/brown)
If your husband has brown/brown, then:
- All your children will have brown eyes (blue/brown), although they will carry the blue gene for their children

Think of hair color. My husband had sandy blonde when he was little and green eyes, me, I was blonde-brown eyes. My family strawberry blonde-brown eyes-sister blueeyes-blonde hair. Husband's family light colored hair green eyes. We have three boys - Oldest sandy blonde hair- brown eyes like me, middle born blonde hair dark blue eyes, one dark brown the other real dark blue almost brown. Third blonde hair blue-green eyes. You really won't know what color a babies eyes will be till they are about two. I don't think thier is a way of knowing. Their is no way of figuring it out.

I remember taking a genetics class in college - and if the DNA of brown eyes is present at all in your baby's string of DNA, then he or she will have brown eyes.
Brown is dominant, but only if present in your egg, or his sperm.
(and every egg/sperm carry subtly different strands of DNA)

I have blue eyes, my husband has green...and my daughter has the most beautiful chocolate brown eyes that rival my little brother's.

You can't figure that out. My parents have light eyes, my brothers and I have light eyes, and my sister has brown eyes. the only one in the family with brown eyes is my sister. Weird.
