No, of course not. Mobile phones will always be limited by smaller size, smaller displays, and - most importantly - a lower power budget than PC's and laptops. So by definition they'll always use slower processors, less memory, and have less storage than a PC or laptop built at the same time using presently available integrated circuit technology. Now on the other hand, today's cellphones run circles around PC's that were made 10 years ago...

Eventually. You already have mobile phones that can do the basic of a laptop and pc. Computers will eventually get as small a mobile phone.

Yes, I am sure of it. They will be as powerfull as PC's are now. But will we buy them?
The functions show convergence. But we use them in a different setting. I think computers will evolve in multimediacenters in the living room. Mobile phones will replace laptops ( with a keyboard which is projected). But the things people want from a mobile phone will be different from the people want from a computer in the living room.

I think we will see a happy marriage of the 2.
Computers will always be bigger and more powerful, but eventually your mobile phone will be an intergrated part of you home computer and network..
Bt are already trying this...a phone that is a landline and works off a broadband connection within 300m of your computer, and then turns into a cell phone outside of this distance..
This is just the beginning....I can see things like long distance wireless systems that can swap files and stream video between your computer and phone...

Some of current models are as powerful as pcs ten years ago, so maybe ten years later, we'll see mobiles as powerful as pcs now, but then pcs will be on a much higher level.

The way technology has improved, just in the last 10 years, where not far off from having a cellphone that has a PC/laptop built in. We will be able to carry our whole hard drive in the palm of our hand, and make calls and send emails aswell.

The ergonomic features of phones and PCs are different. The devices combining these capabilities are awkward phones and clumsy text/visual devices. Someone will have to solve the look and feel problems before this gets adopted outside the technology-fan consumer.

I think it will be a constant evolution. I do believe we will rely on our phones much more in the future. Akin to what we see on movies, personal communicators and such. Pay bills, video conf, watching TV. Identification maybe. But just as the FPGA (Field programmable Gate Arrays,) the chips inside electronics get smaller, and the features on the phone get bigger. So will computers, so it will be each one gaining ground over their predecessors. Not exactly each other, phone and computer.
