Back in 85, which was the year I started JR. High, I seen a lot of boys wear boat shoes without socks. I had quite a few deck shoes (or better known as decks) and I never wear socks in them. Anybody out there like deck shoes?

Yeah, those are more of a casual shoe.

I remember the guy from Pretty in Pink, James Spader, wearing those in the high school scenes...he had on those white baggy pants with that blazer & he wore those boat shoes with no socks!
I had that image perfect in my head when I read your question and just felt compelled to answer!

you does no longer placed on a suit to pass out on the boat, to play basketball, to do construction shape, so do no longer placed on boat shoes, basketball shoes, shape boots with a suit. low-priced gruesome dress shoes are extra perfect than the optimum boat shoes in the international.

Definately not a "dress up" shoe. It's more of a casual, summer party type of shoe.
