'My life is out of control,' Sunshine pined as she stepped gingerly over a steaming mound of horse apples in the middle of main street. 'Why is it you nevre married?' she asks herself, still musing. 'Because no man, so far, has ever measured up, that's why,' she tells herself, wondreing if her standerds may have been just a little high all along.
Just as she makes it across the street, as she's stepping onto the sidewalk, Festus happens along. "Good morning, missie," he says, just a bit too cheerful for Sunshine's mood.
"Is it really," she says shortly.
"Just hold you tatters there, Miss Sunshine," Festus rejoins defensively. "There's no call for that kinda attitude on a sun shiny mornin' like this here."
"I apologize, deputy," she says in a gentler tone. As the two of them exchange pleasentries, she makes up her mind. Sunshine sets her sights on Matt, the tall, rugged, broad shouldered US marshal. "Festus, is the marshal romatically involved?" she asks bluntly and out of all context to the superficial exchange.
Festus, a bit taken off guard replies, "I guess Miss Kitty has the hots for Dillon, and it's always 'peared like he didn't mind. Why do ya ask?"
"I'd just like to get to know him better is all. At the risk of sounding bold, I'm unattached and the marshall's a very hansom man. It just might be that I can win him away from that red headed saloon keeper, no matter how much she runs over the top of her corsette."
"Now let me see if I got this straight; you aim to hog tie Matthew and get him to settle down to married life, is that what I'm a hearin'?" Festus inquired.
"Well, that's not the most elegant way of putting it, but, yes, that's about the size of it," she admitted.
"Well if you weren't so dad blamed stubborn and contrary, you might figger out there's a whole lot more men in this here town who'd pay ya some attention, and you'd be a heap better off sidlin' up to one of them than the marshall. He and Miss Kitty have been carryin' on since before Burt Reynolds was the blacksmith."
"you let me worry about all that, Festus," Sunshine said with determination, resolve in her voice, "what I'm prepared to do, if necessary, will leave Matt Dillon glassy eyed and grinning from ear to ear. I may not have the training a girl gets hustling randy cowboys in a bar room, but I've learned a trick or two along the way. Kitty Russell better reread her copy of Kamasutra, 'cause she's got compition."

Sunshine sets her sights on Matt. He was the man of her dreams. As she turned, she noticed that Miss Kitty has the hots for Dillon. Sunshine talks to Matt, and asked him, "Why is it you never married?" He replied, "I was waiting and looking to find the right woman." Sunshine smiled. She heard Miss Kitty say to Dillon, "Well, if you weren't so dad blammed stubborn." Dillon was confused. He said, "My life is out of control." Sunshine told Matt to "Just hold yer taters" in her best accent. Everyone laughed.
