It's because he's suffering from depression. This is a chemical imbalance, and not a reaction to any specific event. This is why he doesn't know why.
He needs to seek counselling and possibly medication.

He knows what is wrong with him he is afraid to tell you because he does not want you to be hurt and by him keeping it all in, it is causing him to sink in a depression. Maybe he is unhappy at home and is waiting for you to dump him so he can be happy. I hope this is not the case but from reading your previous post, I can't help to believe that he is Torn between you and someone else. Good Luck.

Sounds like depression. I speak from experience. There doesn't always have to be an environmental or external cause. It is literally a chemical imbalance in the brain.
There are alot of medications that can help. Serotonin is a chemical in the brain that in low amounts can cause depression and changes in mood/emotion.
Tell him to go see his MD and let him/her know about it. It's not abnormal. It is actually more common than people think. And it doesn't have to go on. He doesn't have to suffer from it.
If he is against that idea.......tell him to go to the gym and get a good work out in. DAILY. Exercise increases endorphins in the brain.....the feel good chemicals. It may not work on day one....but by day three and beyond....with regular activity....he will feel the difference.
Good luck. Depression sucks. And stress is a killer. LITERALLY.

Well, the details of your questions are very limited but this is what you need to do:
1) I assume you have had a "deep" and honest conversation with your husband right? Is he unhappy with you, the marriage, your family life? Is he concern about financial situation or other?
2) Is his depression clinical/biological? You need to see a physician AND a psychologist and do it soon.
Good luck to you

Depression and/or anxiety can make a person have feelings of despair, hopelessness, helplessness. Depression can cause loss of appetite or overeating, sleep disturbances including lack of sleep or oversleeping. Ultmately if depression is severe enough it can lead to thoughts of suicide and death.
Generally depression like you described is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain of the neurotransmitters that carry serotonin. The main class of antidepressants that are used on patients with depression are called SSRI's or Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors....these include Paxil, Luvox, Prozac, Celexa, and Effexor to name a few...
Some people respond well to these drugs and improve with the right drug or combination of drugs. Sometimes people require therapy from a qualifed psychologist.
Sometimes none of these drugs prove to be helpful and can actually have very unpleasant side effects. It is very important to educate yourself on the risks of taking these medications and make your husband aware of the potential side effects if he should begin treatment with medication...Please also be aware that it is important you see a psychiatrist for medications as family practitioners do not tend to monitor their patients adequately so patients tend to end up on the wrong medication or on the wrong dosage....psychiatrists will require him to be seen at more frequent intervals and will make adjustments to medications as needed.
The most important thing you can do is to make sure you get him the help he needs...have him initially diagnosed by his family doctor and referred to a specialist and make sure he keeps any necessary appointments. You also need to make sure to be supportive and loving because depression is one of the most difficult and misunderstood health conditions a person can endure....Good luck.

Have you never had day's when you have woke up in a bad mood for no reason whatsoever? I think some people get these feelings from time to time, it's quite natural. I have had the odd occasion when i am angry with everyone for no apparent reason, it's really unexplainable.
I am sure you have nothing to worry about, unless it goes on for a period of time, then may be he has to speak to someone in a professional capacity.

There's always a reason. It could be he's health. It could be something else. Just keep asking very specific questions,is it finances,is it he's job, anything. It has to be something?? Just keep investigating no one can tell you the right answer. Just keep a close eye on him maybe he hates the job his in?? Just keep asking don't let him waste time being unhappy.
