Do you want recommendations for your brother and sisterl??
My younger sister is 20, and she doesn't really like to read at all.
Here are some books I liked when I was little-
ANYTHING by Roald Dahl
"The Ramona Books" by Beverly Cleary
"My Side of the Mountain" by Gregory Jean Craighead (or something like that)
"The Hatchet" by Gary Paulsen
"The Voyage of the Frog" by Gary Paulsen
"The Chronicles of Narnia" by C.S. Lewis
"Little House In the Big Woods" by Laura Ingalls Wilder
"Harry Potter" books by J.K. Rowling
For older kids:
"In the Forests of the Night" by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes
"A Series of Unfortunate Events" by Lemony Snicket
"Maximum Ride" by James Patterson
Anything by Joan Lowery Nixon
"The Wheel of Time" series by Robert Jordan
"Little Women" by Louisa May Alcott
"Leaves of Grass" by Walt Whitman

I suppose it would depend on the age of the brother/sister.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl
A Wrinkle In Time, A Wind In The Door, A Swiftly Tilting Planet, Many Waters ... all by Madeleine L'Engle's
Everything C.S. Lewis wrote is good. :)
Any of the Harry Potter franchise
And I can't think of the title of her book at the moment, but Cornelia Funke is decent as well.
If it's a younger reader Hank the Cowdog series by John R. Erickson is always fun. Captain Underpants is always a big hit with the younger ones as well.
