the fact that there are 2 big parties in the US doesnt impress me. both parties, instead of focusing on how they can make the country better, are focusing on how they can make the other party worse. instead of hoping that the other party is right and working with them, they are hoping that they are wrong and trying to work against them. there are some obvious problems in both, both make bad decisions that were obvious from the beginning. but you cant deny that whenver one side has a good idea, it become demonized by the other side, and all you will hear about the idea are lies and accusations, *only* because the good idea didnt come from their own party, but if their own party were to come up with it then they would have no problem accepting it. with this in mind, would it be a good idea to break up the Reps and the Dems, and make smaller parties with more specific goals?

You are right except we don't need parties at all. Parties main purpose was to give voters a way to identify with certain candidates with similar views and aid in the voting process. With the age of information technology age upon us any voter can find out anything about any potential candidate and, conversely, any candidate can get their message out, even with limited budgets.
Get rid of the party system altogether so people can concentrate on the issues.

Bipartisan means when both parties are working together. So saying "Sad fact about bipartisan politics" means "Sad fact about both the political parties working together", which goes against the body of your post.

I always felt it was my duty to vote, but don't feel the urge anymore because each party seems to serve the same interests.

Plus, after the 2000 election I lost all faith in the political process.

Political parties are merely an ILLUSION, because THIS secret and evil group has been in control of everything for far too long!...
