Get Verizon Wireless broadband, or Sprint, or get a wireless PCMCIA card that fits into the slot on your laptop. You won't be able to access the internet everywhere either. Best bet is to get DSL, Cable, or a Wireless ISP for your home, and use that internet connec thru a wireless router for a desktop computer.
You don't need a desktop comp, just a wireless router and PCMCIA card, and High speed internet access.
I suggest Netgear Rangemax Wireless N router and Netgear Rangemax Wireless N Laptop Card. That is what I have and I love it. My home network speed is around 200 mbps, but my pc is on a 10/100 ethernet card, so I only get 100 mbps from desktop to laptop. Then you just hook up the DSL/Cable/WISP modem into the internet port on the back of the router and fly.

Not possible. You will always need access to a wireless access point or hot spot, if you have a wireless card installed on your laptop. The wireless card just gives you the ability to access the wireless access point/hot spot being provided by an ISP, it does NOT automatically connect you to the Internet.

Don't think we're there yet. You'd NEED a wireless card.... What you're looking for is a 'wireless city' or area..... They're popping up - but not really available yet. I imagine it will be 'the future'.....Some places in malls - like the eating area - have wireless hotspots. Some places like 'borders' will allow you to log-on but there may be a charge per hour.....be patient - it's coming.

A wireless card that is if your laptop has one, you can then use it in wireless "hotspots" You can buy credits from BT and others.
the other route is to use your mobile, most come with software to link your phone to your laptop by bluetooth etc, you can then (depending on mobile network coverage) connect to the net.

Impossible I am afraid.
The best you can have is a wireless router at home, but this still restricts you to using your laptop within range.
You can also use wireless connections on trains, and certain shops, like starbucks, but you have to pay to use them.
