Unfortunately I have never been there but everyone who I know who has gone there has told me it is great. However I am not sure if I would feel safe going there

I am Brazilian and I don´t know. You must know it much better than me. But I do not a World Cup in 2014 here in Brazil. We have many social problems here. There is noway to host a cup in Brazil.
